5 Months Old

Our little girl turned 5 months old on Tuesday. I say it every month... Everyone tells you how fast time flies, but you never really know what they mean until you experience it yourself. We never knew how fast she would change.

Here's what I mean...

Gracious, I miss that little baby, but I'm having so much fun with her now! I feel like I have a little more freedom to go out during the day because her schedule is more regulated. Miller is rolling all over the place, starting to sit up by herself & she's army crawling everywhere! Time to purchase some outlet covers. :)

Miller is such a loving, happy baby! She usually only cries when she's sleepy & we feel really lucky that we know her to well already. Sometimes she sleeps through the night & sometimes she wakes up once to nurse. I can't complain, but I really hope she gets back on track sleeping through the night every night.

She's quite the artist, playing the piano in the nude. I pray she isn't inspired by Miley.

Here are some pictures from Boston that I forgot to include in the previous post.

She was so unimpressed with the cab ride that she slept right through it! Kudos to Ryan for getting a carseat base into a cab! Yes, we flew with a stroller, carseat & base. Let me know if you need any tips!

Boston

The long-lost blogger is back! I took a break because I started to view this blog as a chore instead of a fun hobby. I've been missing it, so I decided to start back with the realistic expectation that I might not have time to post every week. I'll do what I can without putting too much pressure on myself.

Two weeks ago we flew to Boston with Miller. Yes, we stuck a four month old on an airplane with total strangers. I wasn't as fearful as I should've been because, as I mentioned, the other passengers were total strangers. If Miller acted like a complete crazy baby, I'd never have to look those people in the face again. Luckily for us, she was a great flyer both there & back.

State Farm really knows how to reward its employees! Ryan & his team killed a promotion earlier this year & we received a trip to Boston & got to stay in one of the most prestigious hotels in the city. We would never stay here on our own dime, so it was a great experience.

The Fairmont at Copley Plaza

The ceilings were incredible

One of the most historic aspects of the Fairmont at Copley Plaza (besides the fact that many past presidents have stayed there), is that two black labs live in the hotel. They're a huge part of the hotel & everyone there, guests included love them. Here's Miller with Callie Copley.

Catie Copley is the older of the two dogs & she's quite famous! Here's a copy of her book cover, and of course we picked up a copy for Miller & had Catie autograph it for her!

We were limited on what we could do & see by Miller's sleeping & eating schedule, but we were still able to do a lot.

On the first night we headed to the Cheesecake Factory, a first for the both of us. It didn't disappoint :)

The next morning we toured Boston via a DUCK. It's a war vehicle & the Duck Tours are the most popular tours in Boston. Half of the tour is on land and the other half is on the Charles River.

The next day we shopped around, then headed to Fenway Park that night for a showing of the movie, The Sandlot. It was a magical experience to be in such a historic baseball park & Ryan had a ball showing Miller everything.

Later that night we partied...

We wrapped up our trip with a little more sight-seeing. Boston is such a beautiful, family-friendly city and we can't wait to go back again (maybe just the two of us next time :0).

11 Weeks

WE SLEEP AGAIN! After 3 straight weeks of 4am feedings, Miller is finally sleeping through the night again. Yes, I know that some kids have never slept through the night by 11 weeks, but once you've got it, you don't want to give it up.

Man, that was one heck of a growth spurt. She's now sporting 6 month pj's. I hope that's her only growth spurt for a while or she won't be able to fit into any of her cute new clothes! My BF Jamie introduced me to Palmetto Paisley on FB. This girl makes the CUTEST appliqued onesies. I sent her some blank white ones & asked her to make some Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas designs for Miller. At the rate we're going Miller will be wearing jingle bells in August.

This past week was quite amazing and here are some highlights...

Ryan called me about 3 weeks ago when he was picking up dinner & told me he signed himself & Miller up for a daddy-daughter date at Chick-fil-A. Presh. He had a blast taking her out on her first date!

I'm pretty sure Miller had a great time too!

This past weekend we headed to the Upstate to spend some time with my dad for Father's Day on Saturday. We went down a little early to catch up with some friends and we had a blast going out in Greenville Friday night. Man, I miss these people, but it's great knowing we're just a short drive away.

On Saturday we had a great time with family.

And on Sunday Miller & I celebrated Ryan like it was going out of style.

Yes, she's wearing a Father's Day onesie

He's such an amazing father & I'm so thankful to have him!

At 11 weeks postpartum... WEIGHT GOAL REACHED!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited about this & I'm attributing it all to breastfeeding & counting calories. 35 pounds are gone & now I have to maintain it. Story of a woman's life, huh?
