11 Weeks

WE SLEEP AGAIN! After 3 straight weeks of 4am feedings, Miller is finally sleeping through the night again. Yes, I know that some kids have never slept through the night by 11 weeks, but once you've got it, you don't want to give it up.

Man, that was one heck of a growth spurt. She's now sporting 6 month pj's. I hope that's her only growth spurt for a while or she won't be able to fit into any of her cute new clothes! My BF Jamie introduced me to Palmetto Paisley on FB. This girl makes the CUTEST appliqued onesies. I sent her some blank white ones & asked her to make some Halloween, Thanksgiving & Christmas designs for Miller. At the rate we're going Miller will be wearing jingle bells in August.

This past week was quite amazing and here are some highlights...

Ryan called me about 3 weeks ago when he was picking up dinner & told me he signed himself & Miller up for a daddy-daughter date at Chick-fil-A. Presh. He had a blast taking her out on her first date!

I'm pretty sure Miller had a great time too!

This past weekend we headed to the Upstate to spend some time with my dad for Father's Day on Saturday. We went down a little early to catch up with some friends and we had a blast going out in Greenville Friday night. Man, I miss these people, but it's great knowing we're just a short drive away.

On Saturday we had a great time with family.

And on Sunday Miller & I celebrated Ryan like it was going out of style.

Yes, she's wearing a Father's Day onesie

The picture frame gift for Ryan

He's such an amazing father & I'm so thankful to have him!

At 11 weeks postpartum... WEIGHT GOAL REACHED!!!!!!!!!! I'm so excited about this & I'm attributing it all to breastfeeding & counting calories. 35 pounds are gone & now I have to maintain it. Story of a woman's life, huh?

10 Weeks

Miller is in full-blown teething mode. Although I doubt we'll see any buds for a couple of months, poor thing is drooling like crazy & chewing on everything she can get her lips on. She's still getting up once a night (around 4:30) to eat, but I now think it's because she's going through a growth spurt. I really hope that's it because I REALLY want her to start sleeping through the night again soon.

 Ah, the peace.

Her little personality is starting to come out. Her expressions are hilarious!

Oh my gah what is that smell?

She's practicing sitting up. Actually, I'm just wedging her into the couch.

Aaaaand we're back up

Still working on that one

The best part, no doubt, is when she locks eyes with one of us and gives us a huge grin.

This past week we went back to the lake on Saturday morning for a walk

And celebrated Ryan's mom's birthday

We have a lot of exciting things planned for this weekend & I can't wait!

At 10 weeks Miller is now in 3-6 month pj's and is busting out of her 3 month outfits that snap. Good thing her closet is stocked for the next phase!

She's sleeping about 7 hours straight, getting up to eat, then she'll sleep for another 3-4 hours.

For me... at 10 weeks postpartum: 32 pounds lost, 3 to go!

I got serious with the calorie counter ap & it seems to be working. I fell off the wagon last night, but who can resist birthday cake from Publix?

I'm ecstatic to celebrate Ryan's first Father's Day this weekend. He's an amazing dad already & I can't wait to show him that.

My First Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day with both of our families in Lexington. It was so great having everyone here together (plus, we didn't have to travel to both ends of the state!) Miller was dedicated at church, too!

I'm so thankful for my own mom & sister who have had such a big influence on me and taught me how to be a great mom to Miller. I couldn't think of a better way to spend my first Mother's Day, celebrating the reason I'm a mom to this precious little girl.

9 Weeks

On Monday Miller turned two months old, and to be honest, two months was a little harder for me than one month. I cried like an idiot the night before begging her not to grow any more while Ryan watched on & wondered if he'd need to find me some meds. I gathered myself, poured out the remainder of my glass of wine and headed to bed. I clearly needed sleep.

The next Morning I pretended all was okay. I felt like a bad mom getting her ready for her appointment knowing what was to come. We celebrated Miller's two-month birthday with shots. Not the fun kind, the kind that require neon band aids. Five of them.

Poor girl screamed for two minutes after her five shots. She was only supposed to get three. One of those three was a 3-in-1, but apparently the entire NATION was running low on supply, so she had to get them all individually. I've never felt so bad for someone in my entire life. When she got home she had already forgotten about it & was acting like her old self until the soreness set in.

Her 2 month measurements were 12lbs 5oz (74th percentile); 24 inches long (90th percentile).

Before Monday she was sleeping 10-11 hours straight at night. On Monday & Tuesday night she woke up once around 4, then ate & went back to sleep. I'm hoping she'll get back to sleeping through the night again tonight.

She's drooling A LOT and gnawing on everything she can get in her mouth. Teething already? I'm sure we won't see any buds for a couple of months, but I had no idea it would start this soon!

For the most part, she's a happy, happy baby & gives us smiles like this all the time!

I can't get enough of her!

At 9 weeks postpartum: 30lbs lost, 5 to go

I've hit a stone wall with my progress, which means it's time to kick it into high gear if I want to lose that last 5 pounds. Wish me luck!
