Memorial Day Weekend

We had a wonderful weekend! We started off with a trip to the Upstate on Saturday. That night we celebrated two wonderful men - my Dad, who turns 60 today & my grandfather, who turned 85 last week. It was wonderful having so many family members together again.

The cupcakes are always a hit with this girl!
Usually a blur because they don't stand still, but these cousins love each other so much!
Precious little Graham
My dad doesn't look 60, whatever that looks like. The man has good genes & I hope I got some of them!

With Nanny, my dad's mom.

On Sunday we headed to church, then to the pool. That night we went out with two of our favorite couples. We went by boat to Liberty on the Lake. Any date night is fun, but when you can go by boat, it's pretty much the best!

On Monday we went out on the lake with our soon-to-be neighbors. I can't wait for these kids to grow up together. Miller loves being around all of these older kids!

Tuckered out from all the fun

Our captain at every stop

I can't wait for more lake & pool fun this summer! As always, and especially yesterday, we are so thankful for the brave men & women who sacrificed everything for our freedom. I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend!

Framing Progress

The builders have made huge strides in the framing of our house! The entire bottom floor is framed out & they've started on the top floor. Here's what we have now.

Front

Garage & mud room on the left

Living room, dining area & kitchen

Ryan braved the incomplete upstairs framing & lack of staircase to checkout the view

Our grand staircase (hense why we girls stayed downstairs)

We get so excited to head out there very day to check the progress.

We've been working with a designer to make all of the color choices because we want to get it right the first time & not paint again for a very long time. I have a track record of re-painting once a year & I'd love to break that! We're still so excited about every phase of the process!

Life Lately

We had QUITE the weekend. We managed to get Miller potty trained (we think.) I'll do a separate post on that so I can look back at it when we have to tackle it with #2.

Besides potty training, here's what life has been like...

This goofball's last day of 1yr old preschool is Wednesday. I've already cried wondering what in the world I'll do without my 3.5 free hours each week. Now I'll have to take her to the grocery store with me 😳

29 weeks along with this little boy. I had a great 28 week checkup & passed my glucose test (thank you, Jesus!)

Lots has happened with the house framing, but I've been stuck at home all weekend, so I can't wait to head out there & take some new pictures of the progress.

Last but not least... Miller continues to BLOW my MIND! One day last week I asked her to write her name (we're working on letter recognition even though she can't write the letters), and she spelled it out loud! I had no idea she'd memorized how to spell her name. Guess I'll give her the summer off from learning 😀 She turned two last month & her little brain is soaking up everything around her!

Weekend Recap

I had a WONDERFUL weekend. Ryan & Miller really spoiled me for Mother's Day. It's amazing to feel so loved & celebrated!

On Friday night we attended a Need to Breathe concert. We went with our future neighbors. I seriously can't wait to live next to these people.

The in-between neighbors were on the other side of the phone when this was taken. I wish we'd gotten a picture of the six of us, but there will be plenty of time for that soon!

On Saturday, I spent some special one-on-one time with my mama. We did our favorite thing - shopped til we dropped! Saturday night we celebrated my mom, sister & me with a fun Mother's Day BBQ supper.

After church on Sunday, we rested & hung out together as a family.

I hit 28 weeks on Mother's Day with our little man.

Miller has turned into quite the character. This child has more personality in her right arm than most people do in their whole bodies.

She was so proud of the gift she made me!

We wrapped up the day with a trip to the land & the ice cream store. It was absolutely perfect!

The Walls Are Going Up

Framing has started! We've been told this will be one of the most exciting parts of the build & it didn't disappoint! We were so excited to drive up & see that some of the walls were up. We took the opportunity to walk around & get a feel for the floor plan.

Here's what the house looked like last time I saw it.

And here was today when we arrived. It looks so tiny in this stage!

Ryan threw Miller up there to get a picture & she took off running. She didn't stop until we got back in the car to go home.

Miller literally ran around for 20 minutes yelling, "Dis hoose is cool. I so escited!" {This house is cool! I'm so excited!} Me too, baby girl.

I have a feeling this construction site will be a source of entertainment for months to come.

She gets super excited to wear her pink boots to the house every day.

I can't wait to go back tomorrow & see even more!

3rd Trimester

I've arrived! The final stretch is ahead & I've begun hearing the comments that are all too familiar...

"Are you sure there's just ONE in there?"
"You think you'll make it to AUGUST?"
"Holy cow, you look like you'll drop that baby any day now!"

Sorry folks, I still have 12 weeks of growing to do. Yes, I make a big belly, and no, I don't think he'll fall out anytime soon. I'm still working out & running short distances. My friend & trainer, Leslie has helped make this pregnancy so much more enjoyable than my first. I feel great & feel as if I'll go full-term just like I did with Miller.

I'm having a lot of Bratxon-Hicks contractions, just like I did with Miller. They're not painful, just pretty annoying. Baby boy is moving A LOT and I'm carrying him much lower than I did Miller.

Today is Mother's Day & I'm feeling incredibly blessed & thankful for everything God has given us!

28 weeks today - 12 to go!
